Stickpin Media

Stickpin Media was founded in 2004 by Christian M. Chensvold and includes over 20 contributors devoted to the following websites:

  • Rooted in history and literature but with a contemporary point of view, Dandyism.net is devoted to the philosophy of masculine style. The site boasts a staff of columnists, lively discussion forum, and a growing online "Library of Alexandria" of dandy-related texts. The site has received press in various publications around the world, and currently welcomes over 26,000 unique visitors per month.
  • Founded in September 2008 and infused with a jazz sense of cool, Ivy-Style.com is devoted to classic American menswear largely developed on college campuses in the Northeast. The site pays homage to the history of American natural shouldered style, and chronicles current menswear offerings in the preppy and "trad" vein.
  • FineArtsLA.com is the leading online resource for music, opera, ballet and the flagship museums of Los Angeles. The site offers original content, including interviews with leading figures in LA's arts community, as well as visiting performers. FineArtsLA also includes a directory of arts organizations, comprehensive events calendar, and discussion forum, plus the audience-development and ticket-giveaway program Forty Unders.

FineArtsLA.com was sold in January 2009.
  • Forthcoming projects include The-Belle-Epoque.com, which will aim to be the central English-language resource for art and culture in Europe and America from 1871-1914, with a primary focus on The Yellow Nineties, The Decadent Movement, Aestheticism, Symbolism and Art Nouveau. The site will begin as a thematically organized compendium of links and will eventually offer original content. Also in development is a site devoted to British Light Music.
